I’ve been a bit remiss in updating my website so there are quite a few developments to mention here, including my new livestream called The Team House. Bottom line up front:
- I quit my job with NEWSREP back in July
- I now host a new livestream and podcast with my friend Dave Parke
- I have continued writing journalistic work at ConnectingVets.com
- My 5th Deckard novel is halfway written
Time flies when life is kicking you in the ass right? That said, I’m very excited about several projects that are beginning to gain momentum. I quit my previous job over the summer and branched out on my own. Ian Scotto, my podcast co-host for many years did the same. Ian is now producing Kris Paranto’s podcast called Battleline (which I appeared on last week) while I’ve started up my own studio and do a weekly livestream with Dave Parke.
Dave is a friend of mine that I met through the Ranger network in New York City. He served in 2nd Ranger Battalion and as a Navy Diver before going on to become a para-military contractor. Today, we’re hosting The Team House livestream and podcast together and we’ve got some big plans for it. We’re already going to hit episode 20 this week with in-studio guest James Powell, another friend who is a former Marine and CIA Ops officer. Previous guests include retired Green Beret Jim West, my man Ian, old school martial arts practitioner Clint Sporman, friends of mine from Civil Affairs and PSYOP, and more recently former submarine officer Brian Andrews and former JSOC surgeon Jeffrey Wilson who now write the Tier One series of military thrillers.
As I think you’ll see, we’re very much building an aircraft while in flight. We’ve already improved the audio and video quality quite a bit and really want to make this thing look and sound professional.
Dave and I have some outstanding guests lined up going into 2020 that I’m going to keep on the down low for now but will be teased out in the coming weeks. Some really unique personalities with experiences that you’re not going to find elsewhere. We normally do the livestream on Thursday or Friday but sometimes change it to accommodate the schedules of our guests. In order to make sure you get notified when we go live, head over to our youtube page and subscribe to the channel. Then hit the bell icon and make sure you select ‘all notifications.’ For those who prefer a podcast version, we have that as well on soundcloud. In the future we’ll look at some other platforms as well.
For those interested in supporting the stream and helping us not just keep in running but also improving our set up, check out our Patreon page.
In other news, I have a new day job writing for ConnectingVets.com which focuses heavily on veterans issues as you may have guessed. I also write some other material that appears there on national security and military history. Overall, the website is a terrific resource for veterans to keep appraised of the issues that impact them.
I also get asked nearly daily about my next Deckard novel. It’s awesome to see that there is still so much enthusiasm for the series. I am about halfway through the draft right now. So far, I’m really excited about this book. It’s going to be quite different than the previous four books, more like The Punisher than The Dirty Dozen. I just need to carve out some time to really sit down and finish writing it now.
The paperback version of my memoir is due out in February. The hardcover, audiobook, and ebook are available wherever you buy books.
I’m also thinking about penning a op-ed on some fairly controversial topics that effect veterans for this website but I need to organize my thoughts on that first.
So to summarize:
-Check out The Team House livestream
-If you like what you see there, maybe you would consider supporting us
-Read my new work at Connecting Vets
-Standby for the next Deckard novel which I hope I can publish in 2020
Otherwise, I hope all of you are having a happy holiday season and that we can talk soon if you pop in on our livestream this Thursday at 8PM.
